This is the skyline I grew up looking at, & it’s the way I will always remember our city. I lost a cousin that day. Too many beautiful souls lost that day and the years following. I will always remember the spirit of unity after 9/11 in our city and our nation. Kindness and love always prevails, even in the darkest of days.

one thing girls have real solidarity on is their periods:

  • we dont judge someone if they prefer pads or tampons over the other
  • we always have extras and we’re always willing to give them to a girl in need
  • we teach each other about cramp remedies and how to get out bloodstains
  • we do pants checks for each other
